Remembrance day

I work every Saturday and Sunday at a supermarket. I start on a Sunday at 11. As I came in today (Sunday), feeling a bit ill but fine I greeted my boss who looked happy to see me. As I was just washing my hands, as I work at the café something was being said into the loudspeaker. There is always something being said, so I ignore it. I come out and see that someone has been waiting a long time over by the chickens not being served. Walking over I say in a loud clear voice ‘Is there anything I can help you with Sir?’  to which I got a angry ‘shuuush’ and lots of angry eyes glaring at me. I suddenly realise that everyone is still and silent. I have done it again, forgotten that it is remembrance day as I did last year. I should really pay attention more!

On another note, I seem to have really got to know my customers. This old couple come in every day and order soup and tea. Unfortunately, I have  not seen them for a while so  it came as a surprise to see the women back again  but without her husband and looking quite ill, supported by two younger females. I felt saddened. I love to see babies getting older too because regulars do come and even after working there for just over a year, I have seen so much change in children. It’s great working actually, I couldn’t do it full-time but part-time is fine :D
